On Sunday, 17 May 2026, Balqa Applied University College of Engineering โ Al-Husn University College officially inaugurated the UPTAKERS Immersive Technologies Lab (ITL) at the Al-Baeroni Building ITL Laboratory. The inauguration was held as part of the broader UPTAKERS project activities and formed an integral component of the projectโs orientation day.
The laboratory was inaugurated on behalf of Professor Dr. Ahmed Fakhri Al-Ajlouni, President of Al-Balqa Applied University, by Professor Dr. Bashar Ammari, Dean of Al-Husn University College. The event was attended by approximately 30 participants, including faculty members, administrative staff, and students.
The program included a comprehensive presentation on the objectives and activities of the UPTAKERS project, delivered by Prof. Rebhi Damseh, as well as an overview of the laboratoryโs technical equipment presented by Dr. Maโmoun Al-Smadi. Participants were introduced to fundamental concepts in Virtual Reality (VR), Extended Reality (XR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI), with particular emphasis on their applications in immersive learning, educational innovation, and modern pedagogical approaches in electrical engineering and related fields.
