13-14 February, 2026 : As part of the Erasmus+ UPTAKERS project, the second Physical Steering Committee was held in a hybrid format, with on-site participation in Irbid, Jordan, and online attendance, bringing together all partners of the consortium.
The meeting was hosted by Al-Balqa Applied University (BAU) and coordinated byOvidius University of Constanța (Romania), the official coordinator of the project.

- AAST Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (Egypt)
Meeting Objectives
The main objectives of the meeting were to:
- Review the overall progress of the project,
- Discuss the status of each Work Package (WP),
- Plan upcoming activities,
- Identify challenges and propose appropriate solutions.
Project Progress
During this first day, partners reviewed four out of the seven Work Packages of the project. The discussions focused on:
- the development of educational content,
- the integration of Extended Reality (XR) technologies,
- academic and technical coordination among partners,
- quality assurance and impact indicators.
The meeting was characterized by strong collaboration and active engagement from all partners, reflecting a shared commitment to ensuring the successful implementation of the project.
A Project with Strong Regional Impact
The UPTAKERS project aims to enhance innovation in higher education through the use of immersive technologies (XR), while bridging the gap between academic competencies and labor market needs, particularly in the MENA region.
This Steering Committee represents a key milestone in the governance of the project and highlights the strength of the international partnership built around common goals of excellence, innovation, and digital transformation.
